JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Naval Station Mayport greeted the return of the USS Jason Dunham on Sunday after an eight-month mission in the Mediterranean Sea and Middle East, bringing back over 300 sailors.
The guided missile destroyer, part of the USS Harry S. Truman carrier strike group, took part in operations targeting Iran-supported Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Truman returned home earlier this week at the end of a tumultuous deployment, which was extended at the order of Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
Jason Dunham returned home to cheers from friends and family pier side at Naval Station Mayport Sunday morning.
