SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA)— A minor-league player for the Orioles who was involved in a head-on collision with jet skis has died.
The Baltimore Orioles announced on social media, formerly Twitter, that 19-year-old Luis Guevara from Tinaco, Venezuela, was signed as an international free agent.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of Luis, a cherished member of our team. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and teammates. We kindly request privacy for them during this very challenging time,” expressed Mike Elias, Orioles Executive Vice President and General Manager.

Guevara appeared in 30 games this year, his first season in the United States, the Baltimore Orioles said.
The Sarasota County Fire Department reported to Lido Beach at approximately 8:03 p.m. on Sunday following a head-on jet ski collision involving two watercraft.
SCFR transported two patients to the hospital as trauma alerts, and two other victims suffered minor injuries.
