COOK COUNTY, Ill. (WGN) Tiffany Henyard’s latest promise to “tell all” comes in the form of an autobiography she’s now selling online. The cost: $99.

The deposed south suburban politician took to Facebook to solicit pre-orders for the book that promises “the real story is coming.” A link directs those interested in purchasing the book to a do-it-yourself sales website as opposed to an actual publisher.

Henyard told affiliate WGN her book “unapologetically sheds light on real-life political warfare, betrayal, and the unwavering ambition to rise above it all.” She claimed it would be the first in a three-part series.

Posters on the Dolton Politics Facebook page, which closely chronicled Henyard’s time in office, alternated between snark and skepticism.

“This is just another hustle,” one commenter wrote.

“Michelle Obama’s bestseller was cheaper than this mess… the unmitigated gall!” another poster said.

It’s unclear what substantive details she’d be willing to reveal about her rocky role as Dolton mayor and Thornton Township supervisor given an ongoing FBI investigation into her tenure. In fact, her attorney advised her to plead the Fifth rather than answer questions during a recent court hearing over a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit from her time in office.

The Fifth Amendment to the Constitution states defendants cannot be required to be a witness against themself during a legal proceeding.

“I think that’s what anybody that’s smart and reasonable and has a lawyer is going to do under these circumstances,” Henyard attorney Beau Brindley said after the June 6 hearing. “She’s not a public figure anymore; she’s not in office. She has every right to exercise her rights under the constitution to protect herself.” Brindley did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the book.

Voters overwhelmingly opposed Henyard in recent elections that followed more than a year’s worth of WGN Investigates reporting on lavish spending, travel and other perks paid for by taxpayers.

This isn’t the first time Henyard has promised big reveals that never materialize. In February, she promoted a weekly podcast that she claimed would be “the most entertaining political podcast ever” and reveal “The Tea” about her adversaries. Only one episode is currently available online.

In 2024, Henyard threatened that she had information about a “power and money grab” that would result in the arrest of her political opponents.

“I will be pressing charges,” Henyard said in October 2024. “It’s a lot. And that’s just me telling you a little bit.”

No one was ever arrested or charged.
