MONTICELLO, Ill. (WCIA) — After one season of Big Ten softball at Illinois, Monticello grad Lizzie Stiverson is taking her talents to Charleston.

Stiverson reunites with her head coaches at Parkland, Dan and Kristi Paulson.

A pair of her Cobra teammates, Lexie Griffin and Alisha Frederick, are also on the Panthers roster.

Having started 15 games for the Illini and spent two seasons at Parkland, Stiverson aims to share her college softball knowledge with her younger teammates at EIU.

“I’m about to be a senior, so I really need to step up my leadership,” Stiverson remarked. “I have to bring high energy to the game and pass on my experience, particularly to the underclassmen.”

EIU is coming off a second-straight OVC regular season title with two appearances at the NCAA tournament in three seasons.
