A New Jersey elementary school teacher was indicted for allegedly abusing a student over the course of several years
In January, Caron faced arrest, and just last week, a grand jury issued an indictment. She now faces charges of aggravated sexual assault, which could lead to a 10 to 20-year prison sentence. Additionally, she is charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a child, each carrying possible penalties ranging from five to 10 years, as announced by Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland.
The prosecutor’s office did not mention anything about the child in its press releases.
“These allegations are deeply disturbing, particularly given the position of trust the defendant held in relation to the victim,” Sutherland said.

The Middle Township Police Department investigated the case after the boy’s father posted on Facebook, according to a report. (Middle Township Police Department)
“Our office remains committed to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community and will continue to aggressively investigate and prosecute those who violate that trust,” he added.
