The two people shot are females in their late-teens, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Two teenagers, both females, were hospitalized on Thursday night after being shot several times during a dispute in Northwest Jacksonville, as reported by the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
JSO Sgt. Christopher Smith said at approximately 9:15 a.m., officers responded to the 10000 block of Lancashire Drive in reference to the shooting.
Upon their arrival, the two injured were quickly transported to a nearby hospital by the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department. According to Smith, one was hit by gunshots in her chest and both legs, while the other sustained injuries to her right leg and neck.
Both of the females’ injuries are considered non-life-threatening at this time, according to Smith.
Smith informed First Coast News that the initial findings from the JSO investigation suggested a disagreement occurred between a male and one of the victims. The conflict intensified and ultimately resulted in the shooting.
Smith further explained that multiple witnesses were interviewed, and a suspect was taken into custody to be interviewed.
“This does appear to be an isolated incident with no further threat to the community,” Smith said.
