Prominent Christian authors who wrote about forgiveness face child abuse charges

A North Texas Christian couple known for writing about faith, relationships and forgiveness is facing child abuse charges following allegations of physical and sexual abuse.

Seth Michael Day and Heather Thompson Day, both 39, were charged Friday after a high school teacher alerted police to allegations made by a minor, authorities told Fox 4 DFW.

The child told investigators that Seth struck her in the face and chest with a cellphone.

Keene Police Department officers who met with the minor reportedly observed cuts and bruises on her body.

Heather, a podcast host and author, allegedly witnessed the incident but did not intervene, according to the report.

She also allegedly instructed the child to wear a mask to conceal the injuries and tell doctors that she did not know how they occurred.

Seth, a psychology professor at Southwestern Adventist University, was later charged with felony sexual assault of a child after an additional investigation. He has been placed on administrative leave.

The couple lives in Keene, a major center of the Seventh-day Adventist community. Seth and Heather are prominent members of the faith, according to the Texas State Historical Association.

The couple co-wrote the relationship book “I’ll See You Tomorrow,” which promotes biblical forgiveness and cautions against abandoning relationships during difficult periods.

“In a culture where people easily and hastily cancel relationships rather than cultivate them, discover what the Bible has to say about how we need to keep showing up for one another — even when we feel like walking away,” the book’s Amazon description says.

“In I’ll See You Tomorrow,” the description continues, “communication professor Dr. Heather Thompson Day and Seth Day tackle difficulties that people face in relationships and help them navigate through relational disappointment, conflict, and fear.”

It adds: “The dangers of a relational cancel culture are a timely one.”

The Keene Police Department and Southwestern Adventist University did not immediately respond to The Post’s requests for comment.
