A tragic addition has been made to the already heart-wrenching list of fatalities caused by the severe flooding that struck Texas over the Fourth of July weekend, as confirmed by family and reports.

Clay Parisher, a 20-month-old boy, was at a large family holiday event by the Guadalupe River’s edge near Ingram in Kerr County when a sudden flash flood surged through, carrying him away, his uncle shared with the Austin Statesman.

Seven family members had assembled at the riverside residence of attorney Clint Parsley when the river suddenly swelled to alarming and unprecedented levels early Friday morning, as reported by local sources.

Little Clay didn’t make it. He was the son of Lance Parisher and Alissa Parsley, according to Aaron Parsley, the boy’s uncle.

About 120 people have died in the floods and at least another 150 remain missing, officials said.

Rescue workers from multiple agencies — including NASA — are continuing their desperate search for the living and the dead.

However, there have been no “live rescues” since Friday, and the chances of finding further survivors are decreasing with each passing day, Kerrville Police officials said at a press conference.

Clay’s family had no additional comment, according to the uncle, a senior editor at Texas Monthly, located in Austin.
