DHS announces 'third country deportation flight' landed in Southern Africa's Eswatini

A flight deporting immigrants from various nations that refused to accept their return has arrived in Eswatini, located in Southern Africa, as announced by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on Tuesday.

“A deportation flight to Eswatini in Southern Africa has landed — This flight involved individuals whose home countries deemed them too dangerous to accept,” stated DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin on X.

“These depraved monsters have been terrorizing American communities,” she continued, adding that they are now “off of American soil.”

This event follows the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision last month, which allowed the Trump administration to restart deporting migrants to countries other than their own. This decision was made without providing migrants the chance to present any potential dangers they might encounter in their home nations, facilitating the federal government’s execution of the president’s extensive deportation strategy.

The memo said migrants could be sent to countries that have vowed not to persecute or torture them “without the need for further procedures.”

The new ICE policy suggests the administration may move quickly to send migrants to countries around the world.

Human rights advocates have raised concerns over due process and other issues surrounding the president’s immigration policies.
