The tragic passing of Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva in early July sent shockwaves through the football world.

The duo tragically lost their lives in a car crash in Spain as they were on their way to Jota’s return to Liverpool’s pre-season training. This heartbreaking event has profoundly affected his teammates, fans, and the football community as a whole.

One person particularly impacted by this loss is Jota’s good friend and ex-Liverpool colleague, Kostas Tsimikas. The Greek international shared a moving tribute soon after hearing the news, reminiscing about the memories, laughter, and strong connection they had both on and off the field.

Tsimikas has since honored his late friend with a meaningful gesture: a tattoo that features the words “Wish you were here”, along with the number 20, which was Jota’s Liverpool jersey number, now retired by the club to pay tribute to him.

The tattoo was inked just two days after Jota’s passing by Puerto Ink Athens, who shared a powerful message alongside the image.

“Some bonds are beyond football. This one’s forever,” wrote the studio. “Rest easy, Jota. You’ll never walk alone.”

A gesture inked in grief and love, it’s a reminder that Jota’s spirit will live on in every corner of Anfield – and in every heart he touched.
