() A man accused of randomly stabbing 11 shoppers at a Walmart in Traverse City, Michigan, is facing terrorism and multiple assault charges, authorities said.

Tiffany DeFell, 36, who lives in Honor, about 25 miles from Traverse City, told ” Live” she witnessed the aftermath from the parking lot and described the scene as “something out of the movies.”

“It was really scary. Me and my sister were just freaking out,” she said. “This is something you see out of the movies. It’s not what you expect to see where you’re living.”

Bradford Gille, 42, of Afton, Michigan, allegedly began attacking people near the store’s checkout area around 4:45 p.m. Sunday, according to Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michael Shea. Gille acted alone and offered little explanation during his arrest, Shea said. He also noted that Gille had prior assault and drug-related offenses.

DeFell parked next to the Good Samaritan, who pulled a gun on the suspect and helped end the attack. She thanked the man afterward and recalled him responding, “There’s no thanks needed here.”

DeFell said she shops at that Walmart regularly but is now afraid to go out.

“I sit here and think that could have been me or my sister,” she said. “He definitely put terror in a lot of people up here.”

Traverse City is located in northern Michigan, about 250 miles northwest of Detroit, and is a popular vacation spot on the coast of Lake Michigan. It is known for its cherry festival, wineries and lighthouses and is near Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.
