Premier Outdoor USA, Outdoor Dreams Company and Shaun Jackrel sued by AG

In April 2024, the Ask Anthony team started looking into viewers complaints about Premier Outdoor USA/Outdoor Dreams Company.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida’s Attorney General is pursuing a lawsuit against a Jacksonville-based company dealing in hot tubs and outdoor kitchens, as well as its owner, over allegations of unethical business practices spanning multiple states.

This all comes after extensive reporting by the Ask Anthony team that started in April 2024.

The legal action targets Premier Outdoor USA, Outdoor Dreams Company, and their operator, Shaun Jackrel. The complaint alleges these companies promoted and sold hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, and swim spas but frequently failed to deliver, provided damaged goods, or abandoned projects after receiving payment.

The lawsuit, initiated in Duval County on July 23, claims that from 2020 to early 2025, the companies sold these expensive backyard items to residents in Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Customers say they were sold hot tubs and swim spas that were damaged or broken. Some say they paid in full and never received the product. Others reported that the company measured their backyards incorrectly, then failed to fix the problem or deliver the right-sized equipment. The lawsuit states even when people canceled within the allowed timeframe, refunds were rarely issued.

The attorney general says a total of 30 consumers were affected and is asking for more than $394,000 in restitution, plus $330,000 in civil penalties for what the lawsuit calls “willful violations” of Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

The lawsuit also holds Shaun Jackrel personally responsible, saying he oversaw the day-to-day operations, approved the sales tactics and either participated in or had direct knowledge of the alleged misconduct.

The Attorney General is also asking the court to permanently ban Jackrel and his companies from selling or advertising hot tubs, swim spas, or outdoor kitchens anywhere in Florida again. The state says their actions caused “substantial injury to the public” and could continue unless the court steps in.

The Ask Anthony team has reached out to the Florida Attorney General’s Office and Shaun Jackrel for comment.
