The fate of Kelly Clarkson’s eponymous talk show has been revealed amid her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s death.
Despite the family tragedy, the Emmy-winning talk show will return for season seven in September, TMZ reported on Friday.
Blackstock died on Thursday at age 48 after a three-and-a-half-year battle with the skin cancer melanoma.
Clarkson, 43, and her former spouse welcomed daughter River, 11, and son Remington, nine, during their nine-year marriage, which ended in 2020.
The talent manager is also survived by his pregnant daughter Savannah, 23, and son Seth with ex-wife Melissa Ashworth.
A spokesperson for the family announced the passing of Brandon Blackstock, stating: “With deep sadness, we confirm the news of Brandon Blackstock’s death.”

‘Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.
‘We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.’
In a statement shared online on Wednesday, Clarkson revealed a health-related issue with Blackstock forced her to postpone in Las Vegas residency.
‘Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,’ she wrote.
“Although I usually keep my private matters to myself, this past year, my children’s father has been unwell, and I must now be entirely there for them.”
‘I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,’ she concluded.
The Kelly Clarkson Show viewers wondered about the future of the show after the host’s various unexplained absences earlier this year.
Clarkson and Blackstock began dating in 2012 and tied the knot the following year.

The Kelly Clarkson Show was renewed by NBCUniversal in December. It has maintained the top afternoon TV spot throughout its six seasons on air.
The program has featured a rotation of A-list guests including Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber, Margot Robbie, and John Cena, among many more.
Her Kellyoke performances — a spin on karaoke — have collected millions of views online, often with praise from the original artists.
Tracie Wilson, Executive Vice President of Syndication Studios and E! News at NBCUniversal, commented last year in a press release, “Kelly Clarkson is a beloved figure. We eagerly anticipated revealing another season of The Kelly Clarkson Show, coming right after the highly-rated Christmas in Rockefeller Center that Kelly hosted.”
“There is a desire for talk shows that both entertain and inspire, and The Kelly Clarkson Show is a standout that meets this demand on our stations, resonating with audiences from various generations in a significant way.”
