A BRIT granddad’s daughter-in-law — who he’s now accused of trying to drown — was once allegedly found in his bed by his own son.

In Florida, 62-year-old Mark Gibbon is charged with attempted murder for reportedly dunking Jasmine Wyld’s head underwater several times during an intense argument about his will.

The dramatic incident took place at the upscale Solterra Resort near Disney World, where the couple was vacationing with Wyld’s two children, who are also Gibbon’s grandchildren.

But now, a source close to the family claimed the bitter feud began years ago in extraordinary circumstances.

The insider told the Daily Mail: “About four years ago there was a big fall-out.

“Alex went up the stairs and found Jasmine in his father’s bed. They had a massive row.”

They added: “It’s torn the family apart… there’s been so much bad blood between Alex and his dad.

“He just can’t get over the fact that his father ended up in a relationship with his ex-partner and the mother of his children.”

Wyld, 33, separated from Gibbon’s son Alex, 32, in 2021 but the pair still share two young children.

Following his divorce, Gibbon resides in a semi-detached home valued at £800,000 in Beaconsfield—a place where he is said to often spend time with Wyld.

Their alleged relationship began after they both split from their partners, the Mail reported.

“Mark and Jasmine have been involved romantically for a few years, although they haven’t openly acknowledged it,” a source indicated, also mentioning that the two have taken trips together to Budapest and Florida.

Family tensions reportedly boiled over last year when Alex was jailed for driving an £80,000 Porsche Cayenne into his dad following a public row.

The father and son no longer speak.

The alleged poolside attack happened after Gibbon and Wyld began arguing over “stipulations” in his will.

US police claim Gibbon pushed her head “under the water and held her down multiple times” until bystanders threatened to call the sheriff’s office.

Wyld reportedly informed authorities that she “was unable to breathe and feared for her life,” as her nine-year-old daughter attempted to rescue her.

Gibbon has purportedly confessed to pushing Wyld underwater but denied any intention to murder her, asserting that both had been consuming alcohol, she slapped him, and the disagreement spiraled out of control.

He is now facing one count of attempted murder and two counts of battery.

Gibbon, a lighting technician who has worked on music videos for Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Paloma Faith, is also listed as the sole director of Sage Hairdressing.

The Sun has approached Gibbon for comment.

Neighbours in the well-heeled Buckinghamshire town of Beaconsfield claimed Wyld was regularly seen at Gibbon’s home, with several describing her as his “girlfriend”.

One neighbour told The Sun: “Everybody is shocked by this.”

Another, who described herself as a pal of Wyld’s, said: “Jasmine used to stay here a lot with the children. But I don’t want to say much more because she is a friend of mine.”

Locals painted a picture of Gibbon as a man who “kept himself to himself”, noting the large brick-built semi with its Buddha statue by the front door and “Smile you’re on camera” stickers.

John Atkinson, 81, who lives across the road, said: “It’s very difficult to countenance that Mark was trying to kill Jasmine. Jasmine was often staying with him along with his grandchildren.

“She always struck me as quite a cheerful character.”

Despite reports of a love affair, both Gibbon and Wyld denied to cops they were a couple.

Gibbon, who has also worked on the late Queen’s Christmas TV broadcast, remains behind bars in Polk County Jail and is due to appear in court next week.
