Here’s what we know so far about the Grammy-winning singer’s latest project.

NEW YORK — Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”

The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter unveiled exciting news on Tuesday with a brief clip from an upcoming episode of New Heights, a podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason. Set to air on Wednesday, the clip features Swift pulling a new album — with the cover obscured — from a box, showcasing it to the hosts.

Fans can look forward to pre-ordering the album on Swift’s official website. An exclusive limited vinyl edition will also be available, released in a “portofino orange glitter” as detailed on the pre-order page.

The release date was not shared in the short clip, but the website says vinyl, CD and cassette pre-orders will ship before Oct. 13.

Speculation ran high on Monday when mysterious social media posts from Swift’s marketing team started circulating, prominently featuring the color orange. This fueled fan theories tying the hue to her upcoming album. A countdown, adorned with an orange glitter background, appeared on her site, ticking down to the eagerly anticipated moment at 12:12 a.m. on August 12.

Previously, Swift’s studio album “The Tortured Poets Department,” made its debut in April 2024, clinching the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. The double album achieved multiple streaming milestones and dominated the chart for 15 weeks.

Tuesday’s reveal follows the conclusion of Swift’s record-shattering Eras Tour in December 2024. The tour earned its place as the highest-grossing concert tour ever by a female artist, racking up over $1 billion in ticket sales. It was a celebration of her musical journey, featuring songs from her debut album in 2006 to “The Tortured Poets Department,” released amid the tour’s acclaim and soon incorporated into its set list.

Swift’s discography boasts a repertoire of studio albums: “Taylor Swift” (2006), “Fearless” (2008), “Speak Now” (2010), “Red” (2012), “1989” (2014), “Reputation” (2017), “Lover” (2019), “Folklore” (2020), “Evermore” (2020), “Midnights” (2022), and “The Tortured Poets Department” (2024).

She has also released four re-recorded “Taylor’s Version” albums prior to regaining ownership of her master recordings. In May, Swift announced she was once again the owner of her entire music catalog, including her masters, music videos, concert films, album art, photography and unreleased songs. The deal, made with Shamrock Capital, marked the end of a years-long battle over the rights to many of her early albums.

The 35-year-old artist has won 14 Grammy Awards throughout her career, including four for Album of the Year, making her the most awarded artist in that category.
