Wayne Rooney and Tom Brady’s unexpected feud has taken a fresh, public turn.

The conflict originated from a remark by Brady, a part owner at Birmingham City, regarding Rooney, the club’s former head coach, within the Amazon Prime documentary Built in Birmingham: Brady & the Blues.

“I’m somewhat concerned about our head coach’s dedication,” Brady commented after visiting the team’s training facility in November 2023. “I mean, I’m not sure, I don’t have a strong hunch about that.”

Rooney, who was dismissed from Birmingham in January 2024 after a tenure of just 83 days, has responded to Brady through his latest podcast, The Wayne Rooney Show, broadcast twice weekly on BBC Sounds, YouTube, and BBC iPlayer.

Reflecting on Brady’s remarks, Rooney said he was “really disappointed with the comment.”

“I believe Tom came by once, which was the day before a match where activities are naturally lighter, and I don’t think he comprehended football that well,” the former England star clarified.

He further stated: “Football isn’t NFL—NFL operates for three months annually. Players require rest too, so I think the way he’s publicly portrayed that is very unfair.”

Your move, Tom.
