A Missouri man facing allegations of sexually assaulting a woman last month insists he “never raped” her. He claims that during their sexual encounters, the victim “appeared to want it to end,” acknowledging it was “traumatizing” and “one-sided,” as per the police report.

Remo Rooks, 38, hailing from Clinton, is facing charges in Henry County with two counts of second-degree rape. This comes after the victim reported the purported incidents last Wednesday, based on the probable cause statement associated with his arrest.

The woman claimed to the police that Rooks, who allegedly admitted to having “sexual impulses,” exploited her on July 31 at a “private residence” in Clinton, approximately 75 miles southeast of Kansas City. The nature of their relationship remains ambiguous.

“The victim stated Remo raped her twice in one day,” according to the probable cause statement. “She expressed that she told him no and that she did not wish to engage in sex.”

Remo was apprehended on Wednesday and subjected to police questioning regarding the alleged events. He attempted to refute the allegations against him, maintaining that the sex was consensual, yet conceded that it eventually seemed “one-sided,” according to the police.

“Remo claimed he never raped the victim, but during sex, she seemed like she wanted it to be finished, indicating it appeared traumatizing for the victim,” as noted in the probable cause statement. “He also mentioned being sexually impulsive.”

Rooks, who faces up to 14 years in prison, was behind bars Sunday on a $25,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear for a bond reduction hearing on Monday morning.
