CHICAGO (WLS) — Taco lovers, prepare your taste buds for this three-day fiesta that pays tribute to everyone’s favorite tortilla-wrapped delight!
Whether you’re into classic fillings like chicken, steak, chorizo, and beef or you’re after more inventive blends, this festival covers all bases! Fourteen of Chicago’s top restaurants are set to compete in creating the city’s most irresistible tacos.

This festival is a highly anticipated event in the Windy City’s culinary calendar. Scheduled for Aug. 22-24, the Lakeview Taco Fest will take place at 3500 North Southport Avenue, nestled between Addison and Roscoe. The operating hours are Friday from 4-10 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m.-10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m.-9 p.m.
The event features two music stages, the excitement of Luche Libre Mexican wrestling (occurring daily at 5 p.m. at Southport & Cornelia), kid-friendly activities including inflatables and games, and a chance for attendees to vote via text for the “People’s Choice – Chicago’s Best Taco.” Additionally, vendors vie for the coveted “Critics Choice Best Taco” award on Saturday, announced on the South Stage at 5 p.m.
Attendees can savor delicious tacos from the city’s leading vendors like Banges, Beat Kitchen, Cabos Tacos, Carnitas Roldan, El Campeon, El Taconazo Express, Enriques Place, Fernando’s Blue Agave Restaurant, La Cebollita Grill, Prime Tacos, Tandoor Char House, Taqueria Arceo, Taqueria Teotihuacan, and Tuco and Blondie.
