() Have you ever gone up to somebody and asked them if they wanted to own a bridge for free?
The Missouri Department of Transportation is offering a historic U.S. Route 160 bridge in Theodosia for relocation and reuse.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation’s website, “The bridge qualifies for the National Register of Historic Places under criteria A and C due to its engineering importance, particularly its multiple through truss design, and its connection to the creation of Bull Shoals Lake.”
The DOT acknowledged that up to 100% of the potential demolition costs are open to being reimbursed to the recipient who relocates the bridge.
Individuals who wish to acquire the bridge should submit a proposal to the Missouri Department of Transportation Historic Preservation Section by January 9, 2026.
The Missouri Department of Transportation Historic Preservation is also taking proposals for Swan Creek Lake.
