JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — A fatal shooting occurred early Wednesday morning on North Roan Street, resulting in one death as reported by the Johnson City Police Department (JCPD).

Officers from the JCPD arrived at 2412 N. Roan St. around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, where they discovered a man in the parking lot with several gunshot injuries, according to the release.

A preliminary investigation found that the shooting occurred due to an argument between two men that turned physical.

Justin Sturdivant, 37, of Johnson City, died at the scene, according to JCPD.

Jacob McGlone, 45, of Scottsboro, Ala., was arrested at the scene and is charged with first-degree murder, according to JCPD.

The JCPD Criminal Investigations Division is leading the ongoing investigation.
