VLADIMIR Putin’s advances around “war cauldron” cities are a failing, The Sun has revealed as it dives deep in Ukraine’s brave front line fightback.

The latest episode of Battle Plans Exposed features ex-intelligence officer and NATO planner Philip Ingram as he explores the Ukrainian defense strategies along with Russia’s failed assaults.

The military expert details a critical analysis of Putin’s flawed advances in the Donbas region – and why they have all been destined to fail.

He outlines “war cauldron” cities, which the Russian tyrant has been trying to capture as part of his bloody invasion.

And he also explains why Putin’s sudden breakthrough into Ukraine just before the summit with Donald Trump in Alaska completely fell apart.

The episode includes a deep dive on Putin’s demands, compared to what the reality on the front line is.

And Ingram also takes a comprehensive look at how Ukraine’s military restructuring has helped bolster its counter-attacks

He details Operation Desert Storm as a case study, in order to get a better grasp of why the new structure is so crucial.

Ukraine‘s new Flamingo Missile, which is said to be able to reach Moscow over 3,000km away, is also analysed as part of the brand new episode.

It comes as Putin continues to launch attacks on the war-torn country, despite a high-stakes meeting with the US President over one week ago.

After the historic summit, Trump met with European leaders, including Volodymyr Zelensky, at the White House, where they highlighted major advancements in peace discussions.

The Don even made a call to Putin halfway through his talks with Keir Starmer, Emmanuel Macron, Giorgia Meloni and other world leaders.

Last weekend, US Vice President JD Vance claimed that Russia had abandoned its ambitions to control Ukraine, counting it was a key concession win.

He remains confident Trump will broker an end to the fighting.

It also came as Washington was blocking Ukraine from firing long-range missiles into Russia.

The Pentagon launched a review process in late spring, effectively barring Kyiv from targeting locations within Russian territory, according to sources cited by the Wall Street Journal.

This has stopped Kyiv benefitting from the full firepower of US Atacms and British Storm Shadows.

In November, President Biden approved Ukraine’s use of the Atacms, and that month also saw Storm Shadows launched into Russia for the first time.

Two US officials told the paper that a Ukrainian request to use Atacms had already been rejected on at least one occasion.

Trump, meanwhile, has restated the two-week timeframe for reaching a deal.

He said on Friday: “I think over the next two weeks, we’re going to find out which way it’s going to go.

Since the Alaska summit between Trump and Putin, a massive Russian blitz in Ukraine seriously damaged an American factory.

Drones and missiles rained down on the electronics factory in western Ukraine on Thursday night – which President Zelensky insisted was deliberate.

Vance said he “doesn’t like” it and Trump said he is “not happy” – but the attack doesn’t appear to have derailed US commitment to negotiating.

Ukrainian forces announced they had eliminated three Russian individuals responsible for the Bucha massacre through a series of retaliatory bombings on the nation’s Independence Day, observed on Saturday.

Ukraine’s military intelligence division, GUR, reported that three Russian soldiers, known as the “Butchers of Bucha,” were eliminated in precise bombings in the Russian-controlled Luhansk area.

They were targeted in the Luhansk region while operating as a mobile air defence group to cover a Russian military-repair base.

Bucha is a town close to Kyiv where Russian troops were accused of perpetrating appalling war crimes as they sought to storm Kyiv in 2022.
