ABC News, CNN Downplay Alleged Minneapolis Shooter's Trump, Catholic Hatred

Segments aired by both ABC News and CNN seemed to diminish the alleged Minneapolis shooter’s disdain for President Donald Trump and Catholicism on Tuesday, following the tragic event where two children were killed during a Mass.

As reported by – News on Wednesday, the unfortunate incident occurred at a Catholic school in Minneapolis, where a shooting took place during a Mass service, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to 17 others:

A senior official from the Trump administration verified to – News that the YouTube account, which has since been removed, was indeed the gunman’s. The account included a video that featured his manifesto and showcased all of his firearms.

One of the magazines contained the words, “Kill Donald Trump.”

“Where is your God?” “Mashallah” and “Israel Must Fall” were among the words written on the gunman’s magazines and weapons.

In a report by ABC News, journalist Aaron Katersky acknowledged that the suspect had penned a manifesto with numerous hateful statements, yet omitted the fact that the phrase “Kill Donald Trump” was inscribed on a gun magazine.

On CNN, despite FBI Director Kash Patel’s disclosure that the attack is being treated as a hate crime against Catholics, John Miller, the chief law enforcement and intelligence analyst, voiced apprehension about labeling the gunman’s actions as motivated by anti-Catholic sentiments, even though he specifically attacked Catholic students during Mass.

“There won’t be a definitive motive. He’s facing personal issues and chooses to blame others. His messages are filled with hate towards blacks, Jews, religion, and God. Basically, his motive is universal hatred because his life is chaotic, and he refuses to acknowledge his own responsibility,” explained Miller.
