Lisa McCune has shared details about her ‘situationship’ with New Zealand opera singer Teddy Tahu Rhodes, 13 years after causing a stir in Australia when they were seen kissing while each was married to someone else.

The former Blue Heelers actress, 54, confessed on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show that even though she communicates with Teddy, 59, daily, they are not romantically connected.

‘I don’t have a significant other in a full-time sense. I maintain a wonderful friendship with the man who stirred up so much drama in my life, Teddy, who remains a dear friend and we talk almost every day,’ Lisa stated.

‘We have lovely conversations every day. He’s a very dear friend and I value that relationship very much.’

The Sydney-born actress added her lifestyle was far too busy to maintain a serious relationship.

‘I’m really busy. I love the idea of having a travel companion, but I have wonderful girlfriends to travel with and my kids, and I’m in a really happy, content state right now. I’m not on Hinge,’ she added.

However, Lisa added she was optimistic about one day finding love again.

‘I will fall in love. I love being in love. I’m such a romantic,’ she said.

In 2012, Lisa and her South Pacific co-star Teddy were caught kissing, despite both being married to other people at the time.

The photos were splashed across the tabloids and dubbed ‘scandalous’ because she was still married as far as the public was concerned.

Lisa did not publicly announce her separation from Tim at the time she was caught kissing Teddy, which led some outlets to speculate that the couple may have had an ‘open marriage’.

‘That gives me the giggles. I think the description [open marriage] is hysterical. It makes me laugh when I read that,’ she was quoted as saying at the time.

She married Tim Disney in 2000, and they went on to welcome three children – sons Archer, 23, and Oliver, 21, and daughter Remy, 19.

New Idea magazine later revealed unearthed comments the veteran actress made back in 2017 following the scandal.

‘I was getting advice, saying: “Make statements.” I just thought, “No, I don’t need to because it’s my life,”‘ she said, as reported by the magazine.

‘For me personally, I have always been open and happy to talk about my babies when they were born and my marriage, and then I hit a speed bump.’

She revealed in 2020 that she was ‘happily single’, but still living with her ex-husband as they continued to co-parent their three children.

In 2020, she revealed the couple’s very unusual co-parenting arrangement.

‘We all live on one property so we’re here for the kids – we have to because our work is so all over the place,’ she told the Australian Women’s Weekly.

‘Tim and I are very much dual parenting. We are all over them as parents. It takes two people a lot of the time.’
