In Blountville, Tenn., two horses named Midnight Waltz and Comanche, which were taken from their stable on September 3, have been found in Kentucky. The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office has reported the arrest of one individual related to the case.

Owner Patsy Mullins informed News Channel 11 on Friday afternoon that her and her husband Lonnie’s horses had been found.

“Thank the Good Lord for the efforts of the Kentucky State Police and Detective Peters from Blountville who located our horses. Your video played a significant part in this success. They are returning our horses to us TODAY!!!” Patsy Mullins conveyed in a message to News Channel 11.

The SCSO said Friday in a social media release that one man, Matthew Lee Stewart, 34, of Blountville, was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Burglary
  • Theft over $10,000 but less than $60,000
  • Two counts of Animal Cruelty
  • Money Laundering

Stewart is being held in the Sullivan County Jail, according to SCSO.

Mullins mentioned that Midnight Waltz and Comanche are Painted Tennessee Walkers with a value estimated between $5,000 and $10,000. However, she emphasized that their “gentle and sweet” personalities are truly invaluable to her family.

“They’re like our children,” she said in an interview on Wednesday. “To us, they’re no big horse. They’re just our babies.”
