Bondi says era of ‘radical left’ normalizing political violence ‘is over’ after of Charlie Kirk assassination

Attorney General Pam Bondi made a firm statement Tuesday, committing to address violent threats following the assassination of Charlie Kirk.

Bondi wrote a post on X about how hate speech that turns into threats does not fall under First Amendment free speech protections.

“Hate speech that becomes violent threats is NOT protected by the First Amendment,” Bondi stated. “It’s a crime. We’ve watched the radical left normalize threats, advocate for assassinations, and support political violence for too long. That time is over.”

Bondi listed off other acts that she said are not protected under the First Amendment.

Bondi’s message comes mere days after Kirk was shot on the Utah Valley University campus while involved in debates at a Turning Point USA event. Officials reported that the 22-year-old accused shooter had a “leftist ideology.”

“We will never be silenced,” Bondi declared. “Not for our families, our freedoms, and certainly not for Charlie. His legacy won’t be erased by fear or intimidation.”
