The state formally files to seek the death penalty against Tyler Robinson during his initial court appearance.
Correctional officers are taking exceptional steps to ensure inmate 460956 Robinson remains alive until his trial. Robinson is being watched closely in special housing. The prosecutor stressed that the decision was made independently and carefully, based solely on the evidence available.
Also, criminal information charging Tyler James Robinson, age 22, with the following crimes:
- Count one, aggravated murder, a capital offense for intentionally or knowingly causing the death of Charlie Kirk under circumstances that created a great risk of death to others.
- Count two, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, a first-degree felony. The state is alleging aggravating factors on counts one and two because allegedly the defendant targeted Charlie Kirk based on Charlie’s political expression and knowing children were present and witnessed the murder.
In other arrest news, George Zinn, aged 71, misled investigators about the identity of the true shooter by dramatically claiming he killed Charlie Kirk, causing the audience to panic and seek cover.
Zinn is facing charges of obstructing justice after confessing that he falsely admitted responsibility to allow the true shooter to escape. He allowed officers to examine his phone in order to prove his innocence in Kirk’s murder, where they found 20 images of nude children as young as 5 years old. Consequently, Zinn now faces four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.
Correctional officers are ensuring that inmate 460956 is protected until his trial by placing him under constant observation in special housing, which involves keeping lights on at all times to allow guards a clear view of his activities.

At approximately 11:51 a.m., the suspect entered campus from the north. He is seen wearing a black shirt with an American flag in the center, a dark baseball cap, and large sunglasses. Throughout the surveillance, the suspect keeps his head down and rarely raises his head enough to get a clear image of his face. As he proceeds across the campus, he is seen walking with an unusual gait.
The suspect walks with very little bending in his right leg, consistent with a rifle being hidden in his pants.
