SAVANNAH, Ga. – As we move through the weekend, temperatures are set to climb near 90°F on both Saturday and Sunday. Humidity levels will also see an uptick, introducing the possibility of a few scattered afternoon showers.

Looking ahead to the workweek, temperatures will hover in the upper 80s to low 90s. Monday signifies the autumnal equinox at 2:19 PM, marking the official start of fall when daylight and nighttime hours are nearly equal. Interestingly, Monday is forecasted to be the coolest day, giving us a brief glimpse of fall-like conditions.

The 90s will make a comeback later in the week, accompanied by a rise in rain chances. From Monday through Wednesday, only a few isolated showers are expected, with more scattered showers likely on Thursday and Friday as a cold front moves in from the west. Nonetheless, the weather remains relatively calm across the region.

Regarding the tropics, Gabrielle is anticipated to intensify into a hurricane by tomorrow. However, it is expected to turn eastward, remaining over open water and not threatening the U.S.

Additionally, there is an area of interest behind Gabrielle with a 20% chance of development in the upcoming week. Yet, due to its proximity to Gabrielle, significant development in this area appears unlikely at the moment.
