AUGUSTA, Ga. () – Two men from Richmond County have been sentenced to federal prison after admitting their guilt in May 2025 for crimes involving the use of a United States Postal Service key to steal mail, along with committing bank fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Cameron Martinas Curry and Quavaun Enreco Rhodes, both aged 22 and residents of Augusta, each received a prison sentence of 120 months, as announced by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Alongside their prison terms, Curry and Rhodes are required to pay a $2,000 fine, a $400 special assessment, and will be subjected to five years of supervised release once they complete their time in prison.

During the sentencing, court documents revealed that Curry and Rhodes had acquired a U.S. Postal Service collection key, which they used to pilfer mail from collection boxes in the Augusta area. They then deposited altered business checks into bank accounts, withdrawing the funds before banks could identify the fraudulent nature of the checks.

“Committing theft against the U.S. Mail and defrauding banks are serious offenses that undermine public confidence,” stated Paul Brown, Special Agent in Charge of FBI Atlanta. “The FBI, along with our partners, remains committed to investigating and bringing to justice those who misuse federal systems and exploit our communities for personal benefit.”

Curry and Rhodes are among five people who plead guilty in May 2025 to various crimes involving stolen mail, bank fraud and aggravated identity.
