(The Hill) — President Donald Trump traveled to Michigan on Monday aboard the familiar Air Force One aircraft, which is now sporting a freshly updated paint design.

The presidential plane has been repainted in dark blue, accented by a gold stripe and red trim, according to a pool report from Ana Ceballos, a Washington correspondent for the Los Angeles Times.

The new Air Force One color scheme mirrors the design seen on the Qatari jet that was gifted to the president.

Ceballos noted the redesigned aircraft as the presidential motorcade arrived at Oakland County International Airport in Michigan, where Trump was set to return to Washington, D.C.

During his visit to the key swing state, Trump spoke about economic challenges in remarks delivered at the General Motors Milford Proving Ground in Michigan.

He promised economic growth for the rally attendees by touting tariffs.

Trump said the auto workers and manufacturers in the state were “sold out” and “betrayed by globalist politicians” and “corrupt special interests.”

The president said those previous leaders let other countries “steal your jobs, pillage your factories and loot the crown jewels” of American industry from Detroit and all over the country.
