Officials reported that the man accused of shooting into a TV station affiliated with ABC in California had a note in his vehicle alleging it was “for hiding Epstein.” The note also mentioned that FBI Director Kash Patel and others in the administration were “next.”

Anibal Hernandez Santana, aged 63, allegedly shot at ABC 10’s premises in Sacramento, California, on September 19. Although the attack resulted in no injuries, federal authorities noted that individuals inside had to seek shelter and suspend some activities. Santana faces charges for possessing and discharging a firearm within a school zone, as well as interfering with radio communications.

Following Santana’s release on bail, officials conducted a search of his vehicle. Inside, they found a handwritten note claiming responsibility for “hiding Epstein & ignoring red flags” and advising against supporting Patel, Bongino, and Attorney General Pam Bondi, declaring “They’re next. – C.K. from above.”

Upon searching Santana’s residence, law enforcement discovered a planner with a note under “Friday,” which encouraged: “Do the Next Scary Thing.”

“It is extremely rare for someone to face both state and federal charges concurrently for the same action,” stated Reichel. “The circumstances of this case are quite unusual, leading the public and media to have many questions, just like us. We haven’t yet reviewed the evidence, so we’re unable to provide clear answers. Mr. Hernandez Santana deserves due process — he is presumed innocent until proven guilty.”

Patel called the shooting “unacceptable” in a post on X.

“The FBI has taken into custody the suspect linked to the shooting into ABC10’s Sacramento station lobby under a federal hold for interference with licensed broadcasts,” Patel said. “Targeted acts of violence are unacceptable and will be pursued to the fullest extent of the law.”
