Greta Thunberg’s flotilla bombarded with Abba music after radios hijacked: report

Greta Thunberg and her flotilla were bombarded with Abba music after hijackers intercepted their radios, according to reports.

GB News has reported that the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) accused Israel of a peculiar act, which involved playing Abba’s “Lay All Your Love On Me” repeatedly, possibly alluding to Greta Thunberg’s Swedish heritage.

The flotilla is comprised of numerous boats from 44 different countries, all carrying essentials such as food, water, and medicine to the residents of Gaza. Several of these ships were subject to the auditory interference, as noted by GB News.

“They’re jamming our radio,” stated GSF member Yasemin Acar in a video with the music of Abba resonating in the background. “We don’t know the origin of this sound, but other vessels are encountering the same issue.”

At a press conference in Barcelona before departing, Thunberg framed the mission as an act of survival.

“The focus here is on Palestine. It’s about how individuals are intentionally being denied the basic necessities for survival,” Thunberg remarked, claiming that Israel was breaching international law by “unlawfully intercepting boats in international waters” and hindering the delivery of humanitarian assistance to those in need.

This isn’t Thunberg’s first humanitarian mission. In June, she was deported following Israeli authorities’ interception of her vessel, the Madleen, alongside 11 others onboard. Israel has maintained a naval blockade on Gaza since Hamas’s takeover in 2007, justifying it as a measure to prevent arms smuggling.

The blockade remains in place during the current war sparked by Hamas’ deadly October 2023 attack on Israel.
