UN delegates walk out as Netanyahu takes the stage

Israel’s lead diplomat at the United Nations criticized those who exited the hall prior to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s address and condemned the international assembly for holding vital Middle East discussions on a Jewish holiday, which left the Israeli delegation unrepresented.

“It was an orchestrated exit. Most were not diplomats, but rather staff from adversarial missions,” stated Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon to Fox News Digital.

He observed that Netanyahu’s speech was first on the agenda, indicating that the officials who walked out came solely for this purpose.

“I told them, ‘leave and don’t return,’ and I was serious. If they can’t hear the prime minister speak for Israel and the Jewish community, they shouldn’t be in this chamber,” he expressed.

When questioned about the motivations behind this behavior, he attributed it to leaders seeking domestic approval and leveraging the Middle East dispute to rally support.

“These actions reflect domestic agendas. Look at President Macron, for example. He faces many internal challenges with the economy, immigration, and parliament issues. Coming to the UN to act as though he’s leading can serve as an easier narrative for him, though he knows the reality,” Danon explained.

On Monday, after meeting with President Donald Trump at the White House, Netanyahu accepted a U.S.-backed Gaza deal to end the nearly two-year-long war. French President Emmanuel Macron, who recognized a Palestinian state last week, said that he welcomed the plan and expected Israel to “engage resolutely on this basis.” He added that “Hamas has no choice but to immediately release all hostages and follow this plan.”

It remains to be seen whether Hamas will accept the deal and, if it does, whether it will stick to the terms.
