() Relatives of singer D4vd were on the receiving end of a swatting prank in Texas after a fake 911 on Sept. 18, according to TMZ reporting.

TMZ’s Charles Latibeaudiere mentioned on “Banfield” Tuesday that a report of a shooting and a dead body found had been swiftly debunked by the authorities.

“When David’s parents answered the door, it was clear to the officers what the situation was. There was no activity indicating an emergency … It would have been obvious if a serious incident was occurring as they arrived,” Latibeaudiere explained.

Investigation ongoing into Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s death, D4vd connection

The call took place a day after authorities searched the 20-year-old’s Los Angeles residence, relating to the death of teenager Celeste Rivas Hernandez, who was discovered in a Tesla linked to his legal name, David Burke.

She had been missing since April 2024, when she was just 13, according to police.

Several questions have emerged about Burke’s connection to Rivas Hernandez, including alleged matching tattoos, song references, and observations from acquaintances.

According to TMZ senior news reporter Charlie Neff, friends of the musician had often seen the duo together and believed they “were romantically linked,” he revealed back in September.

Body camera footage reviewed by TMZ did not record Burke at the residence when police arrived on September 18, though his mother mentioned a son and a daughter were present.

“They’re both minors, so that’s what we think they’re talking about,” Latibeaudiere said, referencing the siblings.

When pressed on whether Burke’s parents may have been covering for him, Latibeaudiere said he doesn’t think they were involved enough in his career to know his whereabouts.

“There’s nothing we’ve heard that makes it seem like his mom had that much control over him at this point,” he said. “So, I don’t think necessarily she knew exactly where he was, you know, at every moment during this tour.”
