MUNCIE, Ind. A wish was granted at a Muncie nursing home last week, bringing some Disney magic to Indiana for one of the home’s residents.

Eva, a resident of Morrison Woods Nursing Home who has Parkinson’s Disease, dreamed of visiting Disney World. However, due to her medical condition, traveling to Orlando, Florida wasn’t possible. Nonetheless, Dr. Gregory Taylor’s organization, Physicians for Wishes, brought Eva’s dream to life in a different way.

Taylor’s team recreated the Disney World experience right at Morrison Woods Nursing Home in Muncie. On Friday, Physicians for Wishes arranged several Disney-themed attractions including a pin trading station, a stand with Disney merchandise, a Mickey pretzel and waffle station, and a Dole Whip food truck. These experiences were accessible using a Magic Band entry point.

Once everything was set up, 15 licensed Disney characters, such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, were invited by Physicians for Wishes to visit the nursing home. Eva and her friends enjoyed the event dressed in matching t-shirts.

“I believe that what makes this special is how we equate Disney World and Magic Kingdom with enchantment. Bringing that level of magic to Muncie, Indiana, is what makes it truly unique,” Taylor expressed.

Taylor indicated that Friday’s event was not sponsored by Disney. He added that Physicians for Wishes paid for the event itself.
