PROVO, Utah — Recently released surveillance footage acquired by Fox News Digital depicts the man accused of assassinating Charlie Kirk at a Utah gas station, a day after the conservative figure was fatally shot while speaking at a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University.

Authorities were initially dispatched to a Maverik gas station in Cedar City, around 215 miles away from the site of the shooting, after receiving an alert from Utah state officials. They suspected the accused shooter, Tyler Robinson, 22, may have discarded evidence in a nearby trash can.

When officers followed up on the lead, they recovered surveillance footage of Robinson but confirmed that he did not dispose of any items in the gas station’s trash during his visit.

Robinson is charged with seven offenses, including aggravated homicide, which may result in the death penalty, alongside charges of firearm discharge, obstruction, and witness tampering. He has yet to enter a plea.

On Monday, Robinson’s lawyer requested additional time from a judge to examine the evidence before deciding whether to seek a preliminary hearing. Prosecutors have indicated their intention to pursue the death penalty in the case against Robinson.
