FBI busts alleged Maduro-linked money laundering network spanning multiple nations

“The Maduro regime’s alleged efforts to attempt evasion and conduct money laundering in the United States through third-party individuals will not go unchecked,” said Brett Skiles, FBI Miami Special Agent in Charge, in an exclusive statement to Fox News Digital.

“The indictments of Komarczyk and Carbajal should underscore the FBI’s dedication to investigating alleged international money laundering tied to [Office of Foreign Assets Control] sanctioned governments and individuals,” Skiles further stated. “The United States and its financial institutions will never be a refuge for international corruption and money laundering, especially for countries that pose significant threats to our national interests.”

The United States does not recognize Maduro as a legitimate leader and the Department of Justice currently offers a reward for information leading to his arrest and/or conviction.

Patel’s remarks echoed the Trump administration’s condemnation of the Maduro regime.

In July, on the anniversary of an election where Maduro proclaimed victory, Secretary of State Marco Rubio released a message supporting the people of Venezuela. He committed the United States to persist in working with its allies “to hold accountable the corrupt, criminal, and illegitimate Maduro regime.”
