SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The mayor of Sevierville, Robert Fox, announced that the Slammedenuff car show will not be permitted to return to the city after the event’s final day was canceled over the weekend.

During a Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Monday, Mayor Fox stated that this two-day event, held at the Sevierville Convention Center, will not be invited back in 2026. The decision to cancel the event’s last day was made because of “numerous disturbances, safety concerns, and a significant strain on county-wide public resources.”

Before the event took place, police from Pigeon Forge and Sevierville had warned participants that parking lot gatherings outside the show were prohibited. As a result, a large police presence was necessary to disperse a major gathering in the parking lot of Jimmy’s Market in Pigeon Forge on Saturday.

A statement from an attorney representing Jimmy’s Market indicated that the management sought law enforcement intervention when the unsanctioned gathering “rapidly escalated beyond safe capacity.” Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett noted that officers responded to multiple locations due to “large, unruly crowds and disturbances,” also stating that no shots were fired, nor was gas deployed during these interventions.
