According to a news release, federal immigration agents made arrests on Monday at several locations, including the College of Lake County Lakeshore Campus, Park City, Home Depot in Waukegan and Vernon Hills, and outside Waukegan City Hall.

“ICE is carrying out vehicle stops without warrants, using racial profiling to detain community members in Lake County and across the Chicagoland area,” stated the release.

Lake County leaders are condemning the enforcement and rejecting President Donald Trump’s actions to bring in the National Guard.

Cunningham told ABC7 Chicago he saw the woman being cuffed, and then, she started calling his name.

Cunningham helped get her car towed while she was being detained.

ABC7 spoke with the woman’s father. He says she is an American citizen and that she was charged with obstructing a federal investigation.

The Department of Homeland Security said the woman boxed in law enforcement with her vehicle.

DHS said she also had a gun.
