Javian Adams appears in Connecticut court on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2025 (WVIT/YouTube).
According to Connecticut officials, a son murdered both of his parents following a dispute about his failure to support the family.
Javian Adams, age 25, is now facing multiple charges for the alleged homicides, including murder under special circumstances, felony murder, and illegal use of a weapon. He also faces charges of burglary and theft due to a reported break-in the following day.
The suspect has a history of domestic violence. Court documents reveal that Adams was accused of assault, strangulation or suffocation, and endangering a child in December 2024. However, authorities say that Monday’s incident showed a new level of violence, brought on by what is believed to have been an argument affecting Adams’ state of mind.
Surveillance footage reviewed by Connecticut NBC affiliate WVIT captured Carlene Williams, 51, yelling at her son, “You don’t pay rent, you don’t pay a bill, you don’t even buy food,” during the altercation.
Adams is believed to have replied with a chilling statement: “I don’t care no more. Fâ what y’all say.”
This was apparently not the only time arguments erupted. Although Adams’ father, Marc Adams, 55, did not reside at the home, he frequently clashed with his parents, particularly over allegations of him stealing money from his mother, according to the TV station.
On Monday night, the son allegedly shot his parents in execution-style fashion. Prosecutors disclosed that Javian Adams shot his mother twice and his father once in the back of the head before fleeing their Waterbury residence, according to local CBS affiliate WFSB.
Tuesday morning rolled around, and Javian Adams was not behind bars. At some point, he is believed to have broken into a separate residence.
“I woke up, went out, shined my flashlight into my garage, and he was waving back at me,” the resident of the home told WVIT. “I told him ‘leave’ a bunch of times. He just kept saying, ‘I’m hungry.’ He was super calm, super like passive.”
Javian Adams left and reportedly stole his mother’s white Ford Escape. According to a press release from the Watertown Police Department, officers responded to the area of Lake Winnemaug Road and Sperry Road due to a report of a burglary. It was around here where he was arrested.
The department wrote that morning that he “is potentially involved in an untimely death investigation from the previous night in Waterbury,” which is about 15 minutes away from Watertown. Police suspect he dumped a backpack, sneakers and the vehicle in the area.
Javian Adams is expected to be arraigned in court on Oct. 22. He is being held on a $6 million bond.
A murder with special circumstances charge carries the harshest penalty of any crime in Connecticut â life imprisonment without the possibility of release.
