The mother of Mark Sanchez’s eight-year-old son has broken her silence following the former NFL star’s arrest linked to a violent clash with a truck driver in an Indianapolis alley.

The ex-NFL quarterback and current Fox commentator was detained on four charges at Marion County Jail on Sunday after being discharged from the hospital. This is related to an intense incident involving 69-year-old Perry Tole, who claimed to have stabbed Sanchez in self-protection during a fierce confrontation outside an Indianapolis tavern on October 4.

As he left the jail, Sanchez spoke to reporters for the first time since the incident, thanking the first responders for saving his life.

‘I’m just focused on my recovery,’ Sanchez expressed to Fox 59. ‘I want to express my gratitude to the first responders and the staff at Eskenazi Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Mossler, the surgeon who saved my life. I’m incredibly thankful for that.’

Meanwhile, Bobby T, 46, who shares a son named Daniel with Sanchez, also addressed the event on social media. She candidly remarked that she was not surprised to learn of Sanchez’s involvement in the conflict.

The model, whose real name is Erin Campaneris, emphasized that her priority since the incident has been to shield her eight-year-old son from the controversies involving his father.

‘Now that everything is out in the open, my focus hasn’t changed,’ she wrote in a statement on Instagram ‘I have always been concerned for his safety and for what he is exposed to. Sadly, none of this is surprising to me.

‘Like everyone else, I learned of the horrific event through a news alert on my phone while sitting next to Daniel. I still know only what is publicly available.

‘My thoughts and empathy are with the victim and everyone affected by this devastating event. It has created a wide ripple effect, touching many lives.

‘I understand that we live in a very public world, but my hope is that as my son grows, he can be seen and understood apart from this story.

‘At the end of the day, I’m simply a mama to a very sweet young boy doing my best to protect his peace. Thank you for the compassion so many have shown toward Daniel and me.’

Born in Londonderry to parents Evelyn and Bert Campaneris, who is a famous US baseball player, Bobby was raised Cuban and received her education in Japan. She has modelled since she was 15 and is currently signed to agencies Ford Models, LA Models, and New York Models.

Last year, she was linked to actor Will Poulter, who is 14 years her junior. However, they went their separate ways earlier this year after it was reported he had moved on with Top Boy actress Saffron Hocking.

While it is unclear when Bobby and Sanchez split, he has since gone on to marry Shameless actress Perry Mattfeld. The couple have two children together after she gave birth to twins in March.

Sanchez, a 6-foot-3, 230-pound former quarterback, is said to have then pummeled Tole and slammed him to the ground, before the latter used mace and then stabbed his assailant two to three times in the chest.

The ex-NFL player was then seen stumbling back toward the Loughmiller’s Pub and Eatery, where he was given medical attention and rushed to hospital.

He is also reportedly facing a lawsuit from Tole, who is suing him for assault/battery and also Fox for negligent hiring, retention and supervision.

In the suit, he reportedly states that Sanchez appeared intoxicated and instigated the fight, which caused him permanent disfigurement, loss of function, other physical injuries, emotional distress and other damages. Tole claims he has significant injuries to his head, jaw and neck.

He has also targeted Fox after claiming the network should have known him as a bad fit due to his ‘propensity for drinking and/or harmful conduct.’

Tole suffered brutal lacerations in the violent altercation with Sanchez and as he recovered at home he spoke out earlier this week, telling a friend: ‘Faith guided my hands to protect myself.’

In an interview with Fox 59 , Tole’s longtime friend Greg Keesling claimed that the grease truck driver in a ‘mild-mannered man who shies away from trouble’.

‘Perry doesn’t fight,’ he revealed. ‘In fact, I think this is probably the first fight that Perry’s ever been in in his entire life. As a matter of fact, he told me that last night. He said, “I’m gonna go on record. I don’t fight.”‘
