4 Dead, 20 Wounded in Mass Shooting at High School Reunion

Authorities now believe they have identified the assailants responsible for the deadly shooting at a packed bar in South Carolina on Sunday. The tragic incident resulted in four deaths and injuries to 20 more individuals.

However, Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner has noted a lack of witnesses stepping forward to confirm details of the chaotic event. The mass shooting took place during a high school reunion, causing panic and chaos among the hundreds in attendance, as reported by WRDW.

“We have identified at least two, possibly three individuals within the crowd who had an ongoing dispute,” explained Tanner. “Their failure to resolve this conflict peacefully led to them drawing weapons and exchanging gunfire.”

When questioned about the potential ongoing threat to the public, given the shooters remain at large, Tanner candidly stated, “I cannot tell you that you are safe in Beaufort County.”

In an effort to track down the perpetrators, the FBI is assisting by enhancing security footage from the scene, while the state Law Enforcement Division is examining firearms, ammunition, and shell casings.

The shooting erupted at Willie’s Bar and Grill, a popular venue on St. Helena Island, recognized for its Gullah-inspired dishes. St. Helena Island is one of the Sea Islands located in South Carolina, as previously covered by CrimeOnline.

The coroner’s office identified the dead as Kashawn Glaze, 22; Chiraad Smalls, 33; Amos Gary, 54; and A’shan’tek Milledge, 22. Gary was working security at the unofficial alumni event for graduates of Battery Creek High School.

The sheriff also said that four people who had been hospitalized in critical condition were now in “much better” conditions, WTOC reported.
