A man facing charges related to the kidnapping of a Pennsylvania woman is now reportedly under suspicion for involvement in an unrelated sexual assault case. According to sources within law enforcement, Keon King is being investigated for a suspected rape that occurred prior to the disappearance of Kada Scott earlier this month.

Philadelphia police have identified King as the last person seen with Scott, who is 23 years old, before she went missing on October 4. Details emerged that Scott, an employee at a nursing home, left her overnight shift earlier than usual. Investigators traced cell phone records that suggest King was in possession of Scott’s phone the night she disappeared, after which the phone was mysteriously turned off. Her vehicle was subsequently located in the parking lot of the nursing home.

Captain John Craig of the Philadelphia Police Department noted that Scott has no previous history of disappearing without notice. Her colleagues reportedly did not observe any unusual behavior from her prior to her disappearance. However, it has been revealed that Scott had shared with her family concerns about receiving harassing phone calls shortly before she vanished.

Further investigation by The Philadelphia Inquirer uncovered that King had been charged twice within the past year for alleged assaults on an ex-girlfriend. He was accused of kidnapping and choking her in a vehicle, but both cases were dismissed when the victim did not appear in court to testify.

In a recent development, Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski has decided to reinstate the previous kidnapping charges against King following his latest arrest. The Philadelphia Inquirer clarified that Toczylowski’s office did not initially handle the earlier kidnapping case involving King’s former partner.

In light of his latest arrest, Assistant District Attorney Ashley Toczylowski refiled the prior kidnapping charges against King. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Toczylowski’s office did not handle the previous kidnapping case involving his ex-girlfriend.

Police previously searched the Awbury Arboretum but said they found no sign of Scott on the 55-acre property. However, a law enforcement source told WTXF that Wednesday’s search of an abandoned school near the arboretum led to Scott’s phone case and a card with her name on it.  The school is about two and a half miles from Scott’s job.

WCAU reported that King also has pending charges for driving away from a police officer during a traffic stop and driving without a license. Those trials are scheduled to begin in November and December of this year.

Regarding Scott’s disappearance, King is charged with kidnapping for ransom, false imprisonment, criminal use of a communication facility, stalking, recklessly endangering another person, and tampering with physical evidence. His bail is set at $2.5 million.
