Upstate N.Y. man arrested for threat to ‘bomb ICE agents’ during NYC No Kings march

Upstate NY Man Arrested for Alleged Bomb Threat Against ICE Agents at NYC No Kings March

A man from upstate New York was taken into custody in Brooklyn on Saturday following an alarming declaration made at a gas station. Authorities reported that the individual had expressed intentions to target ICE agents with explosives in New York City.

Identified as David Cox, a 54-year-old resident of Newark Valley, he allegedly made this statement at a gas station in Oswego, approximately 100 miles from his destination. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m. on Friday when Cox informed a gas station attendant of his plans to participate in the No Kings march and carry out an attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.

Law enforcement apprehended Cox in Borough Park, Brooklyn, around 2:25 p.m. on Saturday. His vehicle was identified through a license plate reader, which had flagged his plates earlier. Upon inspection, no weapons or explosive materials were discovered in his possession.

The reasons behind Cox’s presence in Borough Park remain unclear at this time.

This arrest unfolded without any complications while the No Kings march was underway in Midtown Manhattan. The demonstration drew a massive crowd, estimated at 100,000 participants, all passionately protesting against President Trump and his policies.

A police source informed the Daily News that the NYPD effectively monitored Cox while ensuring the safety of the protest. The source emphasized the department’s vigilance during such large-scale events.

Cox was charged with making terroristic threats, false report of terrorism and making a threat of mass harm.
