This action took place within the jurisdiction of USSOUTHCOM, reflecting the ongoing efforts to combat narcotics smuggling in the region.
According to intelligence reports, the targeted vessel was engaged in illegal narcotics activities, navigating a well-known smuggling route. It was reportedly carrying a significant quantity of drugs at the time of the strike.
