Effingham Hit-and-Run: Suspect Identified in Unusual Scooter-Golf Cart Collision

EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WCIA) — Authorities have named the individual suspected of involvement in a hit-and-run incident in Effingham, which resulted in a woman being hospitalized last month.

On the night of September 28th, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers from the Effingham Police Department were dispatched to a collision at the junction of Holiday Drive and North Maple Street. Preliminary findings revealed that 26-year-old Mia Hayden from Altamont was operating an electric scooter when it was hit by a golf cart. The driver of the golf cart fled the scene immediately after the crash.
