The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) revealed on Monday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has detained an undocumented immigrant charged with assaulting a police officer and who has repeatedly returned to the United States after being deported.

Authorities identified the individual as Carlos Ramirez-Guzman, a national of El Salvador, who was apprehended on October 17 in Arlington, Virginia. Despite being deported in 2006, 2014, and 2016, he managed to re-enter the U.S. undetected, bypassing immigration checks and protocols.

Alongside the felony charge of illegal re-entry, officials note that Ramirez-Guzman has built an “extensive criminal history” spanning two decades.

His alleged offenses include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a law enforcement officer, as well as charges for resisting arrest, domestic battery, brandishing a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct.

“Over the past 21 years, Carlos Ramirez-Guzman has consistently flouted U.S. laws, accumulating a significant criminal record,” stated Tricia McLaughlin, assistant secretary for public affairs at DHS.

“Not only has this man been removed from our country on THREE previous occasions, but he also has a violent criminal history of assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, domestic battery, and resisting arrest.”

McLaughlin emphasized that Ramirez-Guzman’s long-running crime spree will finally come to an end under the leadership of President Donald Trump and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem.

“GOOD RIDDANCE, you are not welcome in this country,” she added.
