Power pole catches fire, causes temporary outage in Philo

CHAMPAIGN COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) — Early Wednesday morning, a fire engulfed a power pole in a Champaign County neighborhood, leaving over 250 residents without electricity.

Firefighters from the Philo Fire Protection District were called to the scene near 1000N and 1800E in Philo at approximately 5:30 a.m. Upon their arrival, they discovered that the burning pole was actually positioned just east of 1000N and 1700E.
