Dad saved by his children after man with 'demonic stare' attacked him

A California father owes his life to the quick thinking of his two young children after he was attacked by a man with a “demonic stare,” who forced his car off the road and stabbed him in front of the kids.

Chris Davison, 38, from Lakeside, was driving his eight-year-old son and six-year-old daughter to a Halloween event when a seemingly random knife attack left him injured and bleeding on the side of Highway 67, as reported by KGTV News.

Despite sustaining multiple stab wounds, Davison miraculously pulled through, with the knife just missing his vital organs.

Davison now praises his children for their “heroic” actions, asserting they “absolutely” saved his life, even as they were terrified.

His son immediately looked for something to stop the bleeding, while his daughter, dressed in a princess costume, leaned out the car window, shouting for help.

The children managed to tear off their sweaters to apply pressure to their father’s injuries until paramedics arrived at the scene.

‘I’m forever grateful that I’m here to hug and kiss them and tuck them in every night,’ Davison told KGTV.

Noah Kane, the suspect behind the shocking attack, was arrested the next day and has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder, according to the outlet.

On October 17, Davison was driving his children to a pumpkin patch in Ramona to celebrate Halloween, completely unaware that the day would soon turn into a fight for survival.

Just after 6pm, the father-of-two said a black pickup truck began tailgating their car for miles, as if trying to provoke him.

‘He was like revving the motor, and I was just like, well, what’s going on,’ Davison told the outlet.

The truck eventually ran Davison’s car off the road twice. The second time, both drivers got out for a confrontation – but when Davison looked at the enraged man, his mannerisms were downright chilling.

‘Not one word, just a demonic stare in this man’s eyes,’ Davison recalled.

In a split second, the driver brandished a knife and launched a brutal attack on Davison, right before his children’s eyes.

‘As I lifted my arm up to block my head, he stabbed my arm multiple times,’ Davison told KGTV. ‘It left my side open, and he proceeded to stab me multiple times.’

His wife Rebecca Davison recounted the nightmare on GoFundMe, describing how her husband immediately collapsed on the roadside and bled heavily in front of their two kids.

The attacker drove off without a word. Luckily, a close family friend, riding his motorcycle nearby, heard the commotion and raced over to help.

In the midst of horror, his kids became heroes. His son searched desperately for anything to stop the bleeding – and at first, all he found was a dinosaur sticker, according to KGTV.

The eight-year-old quickly realized the sticker was useless and scoured the car again, finding a phone charger cord to give to his father’s friend in a frantic attempt to help.

The six-year-old hung out the window, panickily yelling at passing cars to help her father as he continued to bleed out along Highway 67.

‘She’s in a princess dress, hanging out the car, yelling for somebody to please stop,’ Davison tearfully remembered.

In a gut-wrenching recollection, Davison told the outlet he remembered his daughter screaming, ‘Help me, help me, my daddy, he’s dying.’

According to Davison’s wife, the family friend did everything he could to save him: using his hands, his jacket and literally anything at hand to slow the bleeding.

‘I remember my son screaming, “Dad, stay awake,”‘ Davison told the outlet.

The family friend managed to clean Davison’s blood-covered phone long enough for him to call 911 for help.

‘It took 27 minutes for the paramedics to arrive but it felt like an eternity,’ his wife wrote on the GoFundMe page. ‘By the time they reached him, he had already lost so much blood.’

In her own words, it was ‘nothing short of a miracle’ that Davison survived. Two weeks after the horrific attack, he’s now home, recovering surrounded by loved ones.

His wife created a GoFundMe to cover mounting medical bills, therapy costs, lost income and basic family expenses as they try to recover from the trauma.

As of Thursday afternoon, Davison’s GoFundMe had raised nearly $3,740 of the $5,000 goal.

‘While we’re endlessly grateful that Chris is alive, the emotional and financial toll on our family has been unimaginable. Our children witnessed everything,’ his wife wrote.

‘We are doing everything we can to stay strong, but the reality is that recovery is expensive – from medical bills and therapy to repairing what was damaged and trying to rebuild a sense of safety for our kids,’ she added.

‘We’re holding onto faith, love, and the miracle that Chris is still here with us.’
