JOHNSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Authorities in Johnson County have charged a 38-year-old individual with attempted first-degree murder following the shooting of a minor on Sunday.
According to the sheriff’s office, law enforcement officers were dispatched to Waters Road in the Laurel area early Sunday morning after reports surfaced about a juvenile suffering from gunshot injuries.
Following a thorough investigation, Joshua Houston Upright faced multiple charges, as confirmed by the sheriff’s office.
- Attempted First-Degree Murder
- Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect
- Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence)
Officials stated that the juvenile received immediate medical care following the incident.
Currently, Upright is detained in the Johnson County Jail with a bond set at $1 million. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
