KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Former President Donald Trump has officially thrown his support behind Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger in her bid for re-election in 2026.

The announcement was made public via Trump’s Truth Social platform on Monday, where he expressed his enthusiastic backing.

“Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger is doing an incredible job representing the wonderful people of Tennessee’s 1st Congressional District!” Trump declared in his post.

Trump has consistently endorsed Harshbarger in previous election cycles, including in 2024, 2022, and 2020.

In his endorsement, Trump praised Harshbarger’s background as a successful pharmacist and businesswoman, noting her alignment with “America First” policies aimed at job creation, innovation, and American energy leadership. He highlighted her commitment in Congress to reducing taxes and regulations, promoting American-made products, securing the nation’s border, curbing migrant crime, supporting agriculture, standing by the military and veterans, and defending the Second Amendment.

“Diana Harshbarger has my Complete and Total Endorsement for Re-Election — SHE WILL NEVER LET YOU DOWN!” Trump emphasized.

Harshbarger issued her own statement in regards to Trump’s endorsement.

“I’m honored to have President Trump’s endorsement and I’m grateful for the recognition of the work we’re doing on behalf of the people of East Tennessee,” Harshbarger said. “My focus remains exactly where it’s always been — serving our communities, supporting local businesses and farmers, protecting our conservative values, and ensuring that East Tennessee continues to thrive. I’ll keep working every day to put America First and earn the trust and support of everyone I represent.”

The 2026 general election will be held Nov. 3 and the primary on Aug. 6.
